Re: Efficient cars

Despite the drift, I like here on this list. How many lists do I want read?
AND, being a physicist I value what physicists say about many topics not
just physics, because they bring a physicist' way of looking at things to a
problem and that is instructive.

I do understand the concern about topic creep, but as is always mentioned,
as long as the subject headings remain relevant (which is why I changed it
to "efficient cars", the delete key works in a fraction of a second.

Both of these vehicles were reviewed in Consumer Reports within the
last year.

This discussion is drifting away from physics. Perhaps is should move
to a different list?

The Honda Insight is a hybrid that gets better mileage than
the Prius, but
it is only a 2-seater. I've heard good things about both
the Insight and
the Prius (KPFK Car Show, which had been very critical of
electrics in the
past), and their costs are not that high - in the low $20K
range, which is
pretty typical for a new car these days.

Certain models of the Honda Civic are about the most fuel
efficient and
lowest emission gasoline powered cars on the market (they
also scored well
in the recent round of crash tests).
