At 7:56 AM -0600 3/14/01, Paul O. Johnson, you wrote about Question for
Today:

The question for today is, When and why did the catastrophic cattle
disease
hoof-and-mouth become foot-and-mouth?

I have wondered this as well. Perhaps 'hoof' is a less commonly
used/recognized word in the EU?
Perhaps the French Academy of Correct Language prefers mouth over
foot for some xenophobic reason?
