It won't be long until they will, I think.  In my high school physics
class, I have at least 2 labs where they are required to do the
calculations through Excel and at least 2 others where it goes much
quicker if they do use Excel.  By the end of the year, I have about
half of the kids using Excel on a regular basis for doing their
calculations.  The other half tend to stick with their graphic
calculators.  I wouldn't be surprised to see the percentage of Excel
users to increase as the years go by.
