The theory of evolution, as with all other theories, was built upon
observations. However, the theory of evolution, as with all other
scientific theories, made predictions (in this case about the type and
placement of fossils that would be found).

No, it is not!

Well it _IS_ in OTHER areas of science,
such as Evolution, which was built ENTIRELY on previously unexplained
observations.

Only later was the mechanism of genetics discovered.
