For those of you who are following the research into quark-gluon plasma
at CERN and now Brookhaven, Brookhaven used the Quark Matter 2001
Conference at Stony Brook University as a forum for confirming the
success of their initial round of RHIC experiments.
They have assembled four experimental teams - one for each of the
collider's detectors - and have thus far run the RHIC up to 2/3 of its
design energy.
The physics info starts at <http://www.rhic.bnl.gov/> including the
Phobos group's paper that has been accepted for publication in Physical
Review Letters.
Best wishes,
Larry
