Re: Principia

I think this is true for all C's>

Bad generalization!

There is no SINGLE pronunciation for all C's in either English, Latin,
Italian and I would venture, most any language. It depends on what
follows the C!

Prin-CHI-pia Math-e-mat-i-Ka is perfectly consistent in the Italian
pronunciation of Latin.

Eg.: The "scia" in my surname is pronounced "SHA".

We're covering gravity & we're having a debate.
Is principia pronounced "prinKipia" or" prinSipia"?

I think it depends whether you are speaking Latin or English.
In Latin 'C' is pronounced as a 'K' as in 'Kaiser' for Caeser.

So it is usually "prinKipia".

Personally I don't think it matters. Just be consistent.
"PrinKipia mathematiKa" or "PrinSipia MathematiSa" :-|
