Re: FOX Show

I saw it, and indeed it went by really quickly. What I saw was a mass
hung from a lower pulley. A rope attached to the lower pulley going
up around top pulley #1, back down around bottom pulley, and up
around top pulley #2, with the top pulleys ganged (if I remember that
term correctly.) Thus there were 3 supporting ropes for the lower
pulley, hence a mechanical advantage of 3.

While surfing I stumbled on a children's quiz show -- ~~Smartest Kid in
America -- just as they were asking a pulley question -- it went by too
fast to sink in but I think that a 120lb weight is held by a pulley which
is supported by cable with two legs through the pulley.

What is the tension in the cables???

The answer given was 40lbs.

A file that big?
It might be very useful.
But now it is gone.
