Oops, I said a minute ago that I had set the subscription type to html.
I read a bit further and discovered that this means I get sent an index
from which I choose what to look at via the web.  I've undone this, it
has nothing to do with what we're discussion.  It sounds like setting
full headers should enable us to read HTML mail that gets sent.
