Tenure-track physics opening at Kenyon College



The Department of Physics at Kenyon College
(http://topaz.kenyon.edu/depts/physics) invites applications for a
tenure-track assistant professor position beginning in the fall semester
of 2001. Duties include teaching introductory and advanced
undergraduate physics courses and laboratories. Candidates must have a
Ph.D. in physics and a commitment to excellent teaching in a liberal
arts context. The field of specialization is open, but must allow for
the development of an active research program involving students.
Competitive start-up funds are available. Kenyon is a highly selective
coeducational liberal arts college located 50 miles northeast of
Columbus, Ohio. The Physics Department is located in a spacious and
well-equipped new building and includes five faculty members, a
laboratory director, and about eight senior majors per year. Current
faculty members have active research programs in quantum information
theory, nonlinear fluid dynamics, infrared astronomy, the history of
physics, and nuclear medical imaging. Please send a letter of
