Re: Creative back-of-the-chapter physics problems

Hello phys-lers!
Which computer program do you find most helpful in teaching numerical
analysis of elementary differential equation? Also, which book would you
recommend for looking up integrals and other mathematical data? Your help is
most appreciated.
Tom

I would argue for a good spreadsheet program and a book on numerical
analysis that takes advantage of spreadsheet technology.

There are dozens of good integral tables available. One of the
easiest to use is the one in the math section of the H/B of Chem &
Physics. Their mathematical tables are also excellent. They may still
excerpt the math section and publish it separately (my version dates
from the 70's).

Let's face it. People use a Mac because they want to, Windows because they
have to..
