The problem is that there is no one to take full responsibility for the
home and children anymore.  Family life is disrupted as the children
drift aimlessly.

Perhaps it is possible to make some kind of arrangements that will not be
as
detrimental to the children as I fear.   Could someone who has been
successful at making such arrangements already give us some reassurance
that children are served as well, or better, when both parents have full
time jobs.
