Whether it's true is questionable, but it has always been a good story.
I added another method: If the barometer contains mercury, drop it.
Then report a mercury spill to the proper authorities. Among the myriad
government-originated forms that will have to be filled out, there surely
will be one listing the dimensions of the building.
