Full-time physics lecturer positions open at UC Santa Barbara



FULL-TIME LECTURERS
DEPARTMENT OF PHYSICS

Areas of Specialization: General physics, Astronomy or Astrophysics,
Classical Mechanics and E&M, Condensed Matter Physics, Elementary Particle
Physics, Optics
Apply by June 1, 2000 for primary consideration, thereafter positions are
open until filled

Applications are invited for two full-time lecturer positions. The main
duties will be teaching first courses in general physics and astronomy,
with the possibility of occasional upper-division teaching opportunities. A
Ph.D. degree in Physics or Astronomy is required and clear evidence of
potential for excellence in teaching expected. The teaching load is two
large courses or three small courses each quarter. One year appointments
will be made with the possibility of continuation for three years depending
upon performance and departmental needs. Salary dependent upon
qualifications.
