Re: Confirmation of Relativity (correction)

Leigh oh great and wise curmudgeon, :-)

For us unwashed, please explain why these are errors?

Ask the woman on the street whether Earth goes 'round the Sun or the
Sun goes 'round Earth*. She'll likely say Earth goes 'round the Sun
and think you are a bit odd for even asking. Persist, and ask her how
she knows Earth goes 'round the Sun. She will likely become annoyed
and say "Everyone knows that!" If she does, move on to the next woman
on the street.

James Bradley is the guy who made the first observation that resolved
the question of what goes around what. (See "The inventor of modern
science", a Millenium Essay by Freeman Dyson, in Nature, Volume 400,
Number 6739, Page 27 (1999).) No astronomy book should be without a
couple of paragraphs about Bradley and the discovery of the aberration
of starlight, as you will learn when you read the essay.

With respect to the disorder business - don't get me started already!

Leigh

*This is a seldom used pickup line somewhat less effective than "Hi,
what's your sign?" Of course a respectable scientist can't use that
line. I offer mine as a substitute.
