Evaluation

The prime rule for evaluations is "ask what is important to you." Is
gender important to you? Might be if you want to see if you are reaching
the female population. But is "what grade do you expect..." important?
Is class level important? Might be, again to make sure you are reaching
everyone.

Next. If you ask a forced choice question, one in which they have to
choose either a rating from 1 to n or between subjective words like
excellent good poor, etc. DO NOT OFFER A MIDDLE CHOICE. Make sure that
there are an EVEN number of choices and that none of them are neutral.

I asked question that evaluated my teaching, the assignments, my
perceived attitudes towards students, etc. I did not ask about my
grading policy as that, I believe, is my perogitive. I did not ask about
classroom control, again that's my empire.

However I did ask them to, in their own words, list three good things
about my teaching style and three things that concerned them. (Don't ask
if you don't want to hear.)

So...what do you want to know from them?

The woods are lovely, dark, and deep
And I have no more papers in a heap
And in the morning I can sleep
And stroll in those woods so dark and deep.
