I have seen plates survive after second and even third bounce.
Question: After the second impact, did the plate break while in the air or
while in contact with the floor ?
If the plate broke after the second impact and while in the air it could have
been set in a vibration mode after the first impact and the second impact
reinforced this vibration beyond the elastic limit of the plate causing it
to break. Perhaps a slow motion camera could be used to show what really
happens ?
