This comes from total (well nearly) ignorance, but I thought every thing was

P.s. What does SQuID have to do with the question?

A SQuID can count/detect single flux quanta passing into ot out of the loop.

These new loops aren't superconducting but still display the flux quanta.

As far as we KNOW, neither space nor time is quantized.

A photon of light can have ANY energy value, but only certain
quantized values come from a given oscillator/atom.
