All we expect is civility. There are a great many different viewpoints on
PHYS-L, as has been obvious from postings on this topic. Many subscribers
are interested in this subject and in influencing their elected representatives
on their decisions regarding the preparation and upgrading of gradeschool
science teachers.

I appreciate your viewpoint as refreshing myself, although I completely
disagree with it on Eisenhower funding. But hearing it reasoned out helps me
understand AZ state opponents to Eisenhower funding. Thank you for
sharing your opinion.

As anticipated, Senator Jim Jeffords (R-VT) has released S. 2, the
Educational Opportunities Act, the Senate bill to reauthorize the Elementary
and Secondary Education Act. As written, the bill **does not** include the
targeted support for professional development for science and math teacher
professional development in Title II.
