Force mass and acceleration are gallilean invarients but velocity is not.
It follows that F = m dv/dt is invarient under a gallilean transformation
whereas F = d(mv)/dt = m dv/dt + v dm/dt is not.  (Of course, as Leigh
Palmer states, this depends on what the symbols represent.)
