no lab facilities

Suggest you might consider doing at least some real labs-

String and Sticky tape Experiments by Ron Edge available from
AAPT includes lots of almost no cost labs

Teaching About Electrostatics by Robert Morse available from AAPT includes
similar activities for electrostatics.

There are several demonstration books that detail very low cost demos done
on an overhead projector.

Doing a desk top qualitative lab first, then using the simulation to explore
further is a possibility.

Check out the CPU project software- it has JAVA applet simulators for a
number of areas including some mechanics, waves and sound, electrostatics
and electric circuits suitable for introductory level. Web site at San
Diego State University.
