Re: drag coefficients table?

Greetings,

Anybody know of a reference for a table of drag
coefficients for various shapes? I'm in process of
developing a lab attempting to determine the terminal
velocity of a variety of shapes and use the
calculation of the terminal velocity from
D=1/2(density)(area) (drag coef)v^2 as one of the
methods.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks, Leon

Though Hoerner's texts are a standard reference,
a small list of drag coefficients accessible to
students' imaginations is provided by these road vehicles.

There are many hits responding to 'drag coefficient', of course.
Many of the available graphs show how very dependent the
Cd is on Re, the Reynold's number.

The usual formulation for drag that you mention is applied
over relatively small ranges. Even the representative area
is variously defined.
