solar cell kit

Here's a $38 kit for making a solar cell:

http://www.solideas.com/

It's biological, and uses a form of photosynthesis! The dye molecules in
blackberry juice are optically-powered "electron pumps", and apparently
they will attach themselves to a conductor and start pumping. The cells
get about a mA per square cm, and claim only a 0.5% to 1% efficiency. I
think the kit is worthwhile just for the chance to apply a TiO2 conductive
coating to glass.

So, is this physics, or chemistry? :)
