(2) PSSC also had, and still has, an intelligible
storyline: particles versus waves.

I also learned from and admired PSSC physics. However, I now
believe that the waves-vs-particles storyline has been essentially
superceded by QED.

I agree that the storyline has been superseded, but it is
ordinary
QM, not just QED, that has done the superseding.

Jack is right about QM versus QED. This is the same point I made
in my previous posting.

But please go back and take another look at PSSC! It clearly addresses
particle-wave duality at the end. I'm not aware of _any_ textbook that
_starts_ with wave-particle duality and then treats waves and particles
as special cases! PSSC has not bees superseded.
