One can't forget that the top-spin on the ball will allow it to strike the court on the far side with a smaller angle of incidence (measured from normal) than will a ball that has no spin. Although it will bounce "flat" with respect to its angle of incidence, the observation that it bounces "high" is also a correct observation in relating it to the non spinning ball that would hit the court in the same spot.
