Re: ERROR on LISTSERV (NDN: Re: Const...

I'm constantly getting the following message when posting something to
the list. Does anyone else receives it too?

Miguel A. Santos

Sorry. Your message could not be delivered to:

Roger Andersson (Mailbox or Conference is full.)

...If you SEND a message to PHYS-L, the software reports back to you as
a posting originator, and tells you who of the 650-odd people did not
receive your mail. On PHYS-L we ALWAYS have 1-3 people with full mailboxes
and in this case Andersson is the lucky individual. ONLY originators or
posters to PHYS-L receive these; if people think they are iritating, I can
have this 'feature' turned off. To date posters have just ignored it, and
I have no strong feeling about it one way or another.

If you are receiving one every posting rather than only when you originate
a posting, then something is wrong and I can have that fixed. I read and
manage PHYS-L from the same account and have been assuming that the errors
were not visible to the entire list. Perhaps I'll start a separate
account for errors.

PS -- just think of what I get; LISTSERV reports EVERY minor bounce,
system time-out and full mailbox to me; I even get reports from machines
that are still trying to deliver mail. There's a lot of mailer-gibberish
in my daily mail :^).
