Re: infinite square lattice of resistors

Back on Oct. 12 Leigh asked whether or not the solution of the regular
lattice of resistors was written up anywhere. I answered that I assumed
that it must be somewhere, but I had not bothered to look for it, and
that the only solution I knew of (other than some tangentially related
info in Spitzer's book _Principles_of_Ranrom_Walk_) was in my own messy
notes. I also said:

.... I suppose I could write up an electronically accessible
document about it. But I don't have a lot of time for that at the
moment, and it might have to wait for a little while before I could get to
it.

Well, I finally got the time to write up and publicaly post the document.
In case anyone is interested, it can be found at:

ftp://ftp.mindspring.com/pub/users/bowmandr/reslatt.pdf and/or
ftp://ftp.mindspring.com/pub/users/bowmandr/reslatt.doc

The first URL is for an Acrobat 4.0 .pdf version of the document, and the
second one is a Word2000 (Win95/8) version that needs to have the
Times New Roman, Symbol, *and* the MT Extra Truetype fonts installed to
properly render the symbols, (& the equations were composed with the
MS Equation Editor 3.01).

I'd be interested in any comments anyone might have about it.
