Re: Light bulbs

In San Antonio someone described two identical light bulbs that they
had carefully attacked with a torch. One formed a DIMPLE and the
other formed a BUMP in the glass. The dimpled bulb was cold and the
'pimpled' bulb was hot (on) when attacked.

I suspect that halogen bulbs will behave differently from 'normal'
bulbs. Projector lamps in the old days would often develop a sizeable
'lump' on the glass as they accumulated hours of use.

How do you know? I doubt that the pressure inside a light bulb gets
as high as one atmosphere *guage pressure*. Are you thinking of a
light bulb at very high altitude?
