I think that's true not only in AZ, but also the rest of the country. These
teachers get out with NO physical science training. Why do they avoid our
classes? Too hard, boring? Then they're expected to teach some physical science,
for which they have no clue. The kids I'm convinced can see this. The kids learn
that physical science is hard because their teacher (who is probably the smartest
person in the world) doesn't understand this stuff. If their teacher can't
understand, why should the students? They learn it's hard too. Avoid it at all
costs. That's why we have to step in and show them differently.
