Not sure what the water balloon demo is.
Perhaps its like the 'boiling water in a paper bag' demo.

Then there's the 'burning alcohol on one's fingertip' demo.

And the 'lighting a barbecue with LOX' demo
(needs a certain amount of attention to detail)

Then there's the 'floating a trash sack with solar hot air'
demo probably not best suited to Albion.

The 'burning aluminum with rusty iron filings' demo (thermite)
has lots of appeal. Care with the molten iron though.

One of my favorites - readily purchased in country areas -
the acetylene bird scarer cannon. Really tremendous booms, I hear.

One that has been a perennial hit around country fairs - the
'blowing fire from the mouth' demo. Reaaly excellent where
mouth washes are in use.

A demo could easily be based on a question my science master
at high school asked the callow youth:
"Which is warmer in Winter, the cast iron garden seat frame,
or the wooden slats?"

It would be helpful to show a couple of heat pipes attached,
one to a cold sink, another to a hot source, and allowing
the spectator to see how well the pipe maintained the temperature,
in comparison to say, a solid copper rod of the same diameter..

But I wax far too whimsical, I expect.
