Cynics are not always right. After all Galileo really WAS seeing
mountains on the moon and satellites of Jupiter. I recall that
an IR feature was offered about 6 months ago by one of the major
camcorder manufacturers and that they withdrew it with red faces
when the "swimsuit X-ray" effect was discovered.

Oh, and let me second (4th?) a big WELCOME BACK.

Your ignorance is to be understood better as incredulity. The
secret is that, if you buy them, they don't work. I believe they
also don't work if you don't buy them.
