I hope we will be cautious about this. I have seen this get out of hand
on other lists. You get people who have to give almost every reply a new
subject line, or who are constantly changing the name of a thread as it
progresses, and it quickly gets really confusing trying to follow the
thread. Especially if you are in an archive trying to follow a thread
back to its origin.

Personally I think we are better off with a thread whose name no longer
precisely describes its content than we are with a broken thread. Fewer
subject lines are better.

If a thread *branches*, then it makes really good sense to do some
judicious renaming.
