I'd appreciate comments from the list on prices for software. I am
concerned, as most of us are, about the price of software and wonder if the
pricing packages listed below are reasonable. Assume the CD has four
applications that might be of interest to physics educators including video
analysis, graphical analysis, lecture notes software, and graphics tutorial
software. If the prices are not reasonable, then please suggest a reasonable
price (other than free).

Reduced Prices for high volume CD orders
All high volume orders are final and you must allow six weeks for
delivery.
For orders of 30-100 CDs the price is $16.00/CD. This includes one
additional single user complementary CD for instructional use and one
printed manual. You may freely copy the printed manual.
For orders of more than 100 CDs the price is $14.00/CD. This includes
two additional single user complementary CDs for instructional use
and one printed manual. You may freely copy the printed manual.
The license agreements for high volume CD orders are:
If a student is the purchaser of a CD, then the student may install the
software on their own personal computer and install the software on
one educational institution's computer while the student is enrolled in a
course at the educational institution requiring the software. After the
student completes the course, the educational institution must uninstall
all copies of the software that the educational institution does not have
licenses for. The student is free to resell the CD, similar to a textbook,
however, the license is only valid for the owner of the CD.
If an educational institution is the purchaser of the CD(s), then the
educational institution may install the software on as many computers
as they have CDs and allow students, in a course where the software is
required, to borrow CDs and install the software on their own personal
computers for the duration of the course that requires the software. At
any point in time, the number of students that have the software
installed on their own personal computers cannot exceed the number of
CDs owned by the educational institution. After a student's enrollment
in a course requiring the software has ended, the student no longer has
a license for the software and must remove the software from their
own personal computer.
For all other cases, the purchaser of a CD has a single user license
and may install the software only on one personal computer.
