We also had these in the NYC public schools when I was in high school.
The ones in our school were rolled up like a map hanging over the board, We
also used to have blackboard panels with a grid engraved into them.

I have seen them since. However, I don't think any catalogs catering to
physics teachers would have them listed. If you can get a hold of catalogs
for high school math or for elementary school teachers it might help.

Since I teach in a k-12 private school I do sometimes find catalogs
geared to the lower grades lying around. We're on vacation now, but I'll
check around next week and post any vendors that I may find.
