Show and Tell

The PIRA folks have been at it again. Keith Warren at NC State just posted
the PIRA DCS (demonstration classification scheme) to the web at:
http://www.physics.ncsu.edu/pira

We still await final approval to make it available from AAPT.

There are a number of very useful sites (which point to each other
eventually) which can be found via my own Lecture Demo Home Page at UTexas
at Austin. It is maintained by Andrew Yue. Start at:
http://www.ph.utexas.edu/~phy-demo/
Scroll to the bottom to "Demonstration Resources at Other Universities"
this goes to: http://www.ph.utexas.edu/~demog/resources.html
From there you have hot links to numerous university sites for
demonstrations and other resources.

Enjoy, (and send Keith a thanks if you find it useful) Karl

A fellow townsman and a local 9th grade physical science teacher says that
he has run out of good ideas for demos and experiments that might benefit
him and in turn his physical science class. Can this list offer him ideas
of such exercises or perhaps Internet sites where there is some sort of
cache of good demos and experiments? Alas he does not frequent the
Internet -- maybe the best suggestion is for him to do so. (:-) Come to
think of it, likely there is a list somewhere which dedicates itself to
this very question.
