Hi,

I have seen similar shows with skateboards, rollarblades, and
bicycles. The athlete has control over their height above the top of
the half-pipe with control over their speed and also how they push off
from the top.

In Park City, Utah, you can ski (or snowboard) inside a half-pipe. The
slope is about 30 degrees and the length is about 20 meters. It is fun.

By the way, senior citizens (65 or older) ski there for 50%. And those
who are 70, or older, ski for nothing. Big saving when the cost is $56
per day. Perhaps they will start paying those who still ski after they
are 80. Why not? It is good advertising for the sport.
