Re: Going away?

The LISTSERV command "SET PHYS-L MAIL" will restore whatever mail service
you had prior to suspending delivery. It's sort of like a Newton's First
of listmailing: If you were receiving digests, you will continue to
receive digests; if you were receiving posts one at a time, they'll
resume coming one at a time; unless acted on by another command or a
system bug.

If you want to be sure you get digests you can command
"SET PHYS-L MAIL DIG", if you want to be sure you get individual
postings you can command "SET PHYS-L MAIL NODIG".

Best wishes,

Larry

A seasonal public service message:

It is not necessary to unsubscribe from PHYS-L if you are going to be away
from your computer for a while (vacation, conference, etc.) and want to
keep messages from piling up in your absence.

You can instruct the PHYS-L server to temporarily suspend delivery of
postings by the following process, and then restart delivery later.

1. Compose a message to LISTSERV@LISTS.NAU.EDU
2. Leave the subject line blank
3. For the message text type SET PHYS-L NOMAIL
4. Send the message

To resume mail delivery later, simply repeat the process but with the
message SET PHYS-L MAIL

Or, if you wish to receive the digests instead of individual posts
one by one, SET PHYS-L DIGEST
