Hello!
Is it just a coincidence that the acceleration due to the
gravitational force on the surface of the earth is approximately pi
squared?

pi^2 ~= 9.87

g = 384 inch/s^2
or 32 ft/s^2
or 22 cubit/s^2
or 10.8 yard/s^2
or 5.4 fathoms/s^2

They don't look terribly similar to me.
