Hi all,
As a current grad student, I will chime in my votes for my
favorite texts
(1) Classical Mechanics - Landau and Lifshitz (straight to the point
and does it in .5 to .3 the time that Goldstein does).
(2) E&M - Griffiths (Jackson's book still sucks even in the new
edition).
(3) Quantum Mech. - Liboff's and Dirac's (tie) (These are real quantum
and not modern physics like Eisberg and Resnick)
(4) Optics - Hecht
I believe these are must haves to get through physics in college.
