Well, I know taht it can't be A because that is the symbol for
the vector potential. However, maybe it goes along well with the
magnetic field in material being H and electric field in material being
D?? Interesting question? Any physics history buffs out there know the
answer?

And speaking of B... does anyone know why the B-field is a B-field
instead
of an M-field or A-field or something else?

Does anyone know the story or reason why there are D,C, AA, AAA size
batteries but "B" was either skipped or not produced anymore? My
students were asking and I did not have a clue.
