I guess the answer to my original question below is NO so let me ask it
differently:

The reason I was asking for journal rejection rates is I'm applying for a
summer fellowship locally here from my campus and since I am the only
physicist on campus it improves my case if I can give the review committee
(none of whom would be familier with any physics journals) some kind of
handle on the quality of my previous work. Rejection rates aren't the only
way to do this; can anyone think of a good way to explain to non-physicists
the relative significance of a publication in AJP, TPT or Phys Rev (or any
other journal)?
