I read the hand-wringing comments about the difficulty of gaining physical
insight from electronics building projects any more.
I sympathized with the difficulties, but not having anything useful to
add other than "me too" I deleted the thread at length.
Today I browsed a newsgroup which I don't often frequent any more.
I caught a note from Peter Crowcroft mentioning his site http://kitsrus.com
In answer to a question asking for low-cost data acquisition, he mentioned
his kit 118 around $50 if I recall.
8 analog in (12 bit)
4 digital in
4 digital out
Built into an extended connector. Software provided.
I can tell an intriguing project when I see one.
Seems to me that a physics school that turned out students who had built
(and USED) such a device for a physics experiment ( like testing for venturi
in a mineshaft mouth?) would be way, way ahead of the game.
(I have no connection with Crowcraft)
