I would not use Hughes-Hallett as a model for teaching, nor am I prepared
to bow down to their "rule of three". I turned off on that book when I opened
it and found that it started with exercises on the definitions of "range" and
"domain". H-H was one of the reasons that I started writing a calculus text.
The goal, as I see it, of calculus and calculus-based physics is to get
students to think symbolically. If the graphing calculator helps to do this, fine.

if it is a Fact, proof is necessary'"
