Re: Sabbatical replacement and Dollars

Time to dust off the ol' flame-thrower ;-)

I do not know what herb thinks, but I do know that a lot of tool and die
makers are making money in excess of $75,000 a year. For the mid-west
that is a good salary. Second, tool and die makers are not being
imported
from overseas. They are skilled labor and most underpaid people that
come from overseas are unskilled. They would not and could not be able
to do the job that is required of a good tool and die maker. I work
around
a few tool and die makers, and I have yet to see one from overseas.

That's because you live in the mid-west! Forget tool and die makers, when was
the last time you saw ANYONE from overseas?!?

clip....

I see that the Herb has little knowledge of how the rest of the world
works. He just lives in his small world called New York. This is just
a typical attitude of someone from out east. They think that know it
all just because they live in a big city.

Who the h*ll are you?!? Step out of your corn field in a bubble and wake up.
The mid-west is NOT representative of how the rest of the world works! I have
seen some snippy comments on this list before, but your particular parting shot
seems rather uncalled for. Tell me something, is the point your where trying to
make somehow more valid because you ended it with an insult? Are you a
teacher? Do you call your students "know-it-all's" when they disagree with
you? If so, find a new profession. If you would take a moment to climb down
off your hay bale and look around at the "real world" you would see that things
are a bit different than they are in smallville.

Personally, I don't think that living out east near a big city makes us
easterners think that we know it all. I just think that the barrage of idiocy,
lunacy, small mindedness, crassness, rudeness, dim-wittedness, childishness,
im-maturity, etc. to which we are all exposed on a daily basis, due to the large
number of people in this area, makes us a bit intolerant of those qualities when
we find them present in what we consider to be a professional and civil forum.

In closing, if you have something to say, say it, but save the insults and other
crap for the tractor pull.

Note to other list members:
Sorry for the rant, but... what's good for the goose,...
