The processor is a turbo overdrive pushing the speed to 100mhz, but it
is not a pentium.

What is it? 486? That might well be the problem. Overclocking
sometimes does that.

Another possibility, though remote, is bad memory. You might try
swapping it out one piece at a time and see if the errors go away.
Given the sorry state of memory production these days, that might be
your error.

The fact that you have a reproducible boot error tells you that
something broke. Is it worth jumping through a load of hoops to
diagnose it?
