Dan,
Have been looking for a source for a spinthariscope, but in vain.
The last known manufacturer/supplier was Sargent-Welch 1973-74.
As you probably know, this device resembles a microscope eye-piece
having a zinc-sulfide screen at one end and a magnifying lens at the
other. A small amount of radioactive substance is positioned just above
the screen. The device is used to observe the scintillations produced by
the radioactive particles striking the screen.
I am very much interested in observing these scintillations.
Any information you can provide would be much appreciated.
Thank You.
