Subject: textbook prices

1. It would be very helpful to have some data on textbook prices
in the past. I've looked back at what I paid for my own books in
the early 80's, but I could use more data from the 80's and I have
no data from earlier than that.

At risk of dating myself:
(Some of these are original textbooks - some I bought later as
replacements or for reference.)
1967: Robert Resnick : "Introduction to Special Relativity" (paper) -
$3.95
Circa 1967: CRC: "Standard Mathematical Tables"- $4.25
1967: Keith Symon: "Mechanics" - $11.75
1969: Herbert Goldstein: "Classical Mechanics" - $13.50
1969: John Jackson: "Classical Electrodynamics" - $13.95
1969: Albert Messiah: Quantum Mechanics Volume I (paper) - $ 8.95
1969: Albert Messiah: Quantum Mechanics Volume II (paper) - $9.95
1973: Panofsky and Philips: "Classical Electricity and Magnetism" -
$10.50
(Use the above with caution. The book was bought used but
the price
I quoted appears to be the original price. However, it
may be a
previous used price)
1983: Zemansky and Dittman: "Heat and Thermodynamics" - $22.95
1984: Robert Eisberg: "Fundamentals of Modern Physics" - $35.10
