A SUGGESTION

TYPING ERROR RESULTED IN SENDING A WRONG FILE (TWICE ?) NOW IT OK.

I was asked (in private) about senior coupons again. Here is my reply to
all who are over 62 (by Continental definition of a senior citizen).
A good way to save money. You buy 4 coupons (for $579) or 8 coupons
(for $1079) by calling Continental (1-800-248-8996). The coupons must be
used within one year from the purchasing date. Each coupon is for one
destination anywhere within continental USA (two for the round trip,
three for a long stop-over triangle, etc). Trips to Alaska or Hawai are
two coupons each way. You must make a reservation two weeks in advance
but you pay (give them your coupon) at the day of departure. Thus you
can cancel a reservation without a penalty. And you can also try to be
a stand by passanger (I did this on blackout days to fly to New Orleans.
Blackout days are not available for reservation.)

Other companies have similar programs. Call them and ask for details.
If you often fly to a particular destination choose the company which
has direct flight there, only for your convenience. I suppose that a fly
to from Newark to San Francisco with a stop in Denver (for couple of
hours) would be considered as one destination. I did take flights which
were not direct but never checked the limits of intermediate stays.
And you gain free miles on these flights. I already accumulated enough
for the round trip to Europe, via Continental. It is silly not to use
this option, if you qualify.
