Leigh, I'm sorry if you felt that I was singling you out for criticism! Such was
not my intent. To be honest, I hadn't even noticed that you had inadvertently
written "chromosphere" when you meant "photosphere."
Nor did I intend my post to be at an overly high level. I took my description of
the Sun's structure and spectrum from the lecture notes I use in my introductory
astronomy class for non-majors. I didn't think that my talented high school
colleagues who teach physics and/or astronomy would find it at all challenging.
