AAPT and Metrologic Instruments co-sponsor the Physics Bowl contest in April. It is a program which we hope generates interest in physics and recognizes outstanding high school physics students, their teachers and their schools. All students who enter take a 40-question, timed, multiple-choice test supervised at their school on April 22, 1998. To request exams, each school must send a check or school P.O. in the amount of $1.95 per exam to AAPT by march 31, 1998. The AAPT will ship the exams and instruction about 2 weeks prior to the contest date.
This year individual students will be eligible to win scholarships. Sixty scholarships will be awarded to the top students overall: 10 - $1,000 scholarships and 50 - $100 scholarships. In addition, all participating students will be recognized with a certificate from AAPT and Metrologic Instruments. The top 15 schools will each receive $1,000 certificates for Metrologic educational equipment.
