One of the security people on campus is pursuing a wrongful death
action against a local city government for the death of her son a
year ago when he went over a sixth floor balcony. She is trying to
find out if the police report on how he got there is consistent with
how he landed. I don't know enough about the rotation of non-rigid
projectiles to really say with confidence but I know there are people
who do this sort of physics -- I recall seeing an article in Physics
Today several years ago though it was mostly about crashes. Anyway, I
thought someone on the list would know a name to whom I could direct
her. Any help would be appreciated. She is a very nice person and has
had a very difficult year.
